Electronic Development

The developers, engineers and technicians, are involved in developing a concept for a new project, engineering it, the construction and testing, up to commissioning and running it.

In order to develop a terrestrial or extraterrestrial instrument, the developers collaborate closely with our scientists at the institute as well as with other institutes and organisations. The developing time can last a few years. The electronic developers main task is to develop electronics devices that can be used in space, this also means to meet the standards of the organisations appointing them, for example ESA, DLR or ESO. Apart from developing the hardware, the electronical devision also provides the software for running and steering the instruments.
