| The
main and unique feature
of the XMM-Newton
follow-up of the COSMOS
field is to combine the XMM-Newton
X-ray throughput, the highly efficient multiplexing of VLT/Vimos
and
the unprecedented solid angle coverage of difraction limited HST
imaging over the largest solid angle and sensitivity ever achieved. We
shall probe for the first time the 3D clustering as a function of
redshift in the X-ray band and detect sufficient numbers of AGN to
probe the accretion history at high redshift for the first time. NEWS: 2009 January 15th: The XMM-COSMOS catalog has been released to the public via the IRSA archive. An accompanying paper describing the catalog has been accepted by the Astronomy and Astrophysics Journal (Cappelluti et al. 2009). | December 15th,
2004: The XMM-COSMOS team has
been awarded with an additional 600 ksec from XMM in period AO4! The
total exposure time on the field will be of 1.4 Msec. |
