EGRET > 100 MeV all-sky map.

EGRET all-sky map in Galactic coordinates for E_gamma > 100 MeV. The broad band accross the ceneter of the image is diffuse emission from cosmic-ray interactions in interstellar space. The brightest sources close to the plane of the Milky Way are pulsars. The brigth sources away from the plane are active galactic nuclei (gamma-ray blazars) or yet unidentified. About two thirds of all EGRET sources remain unidentified at this time.
