Welcome to the MPE SPI data page. This page contains the rebinned SPI detector spectra generated from ISDC INTEGRAL data archive (revision 2) with OSA 7.0, only for the revolutions that are public. The rebinned spectra can be used as input to SPIMODFIT and SPIROS, thus can greatly save time, especially if you want to use many revolutions at the same time.

This page does not support seaching function. You can only download data by revolution. If you want to download data according to source position etc., please find the revolution number(s) at the ISDC Archive. Other pages at MPE you might find interesting are the SPI science house keeping page, which provides a general overview (pointings, exposure, ACSRate etc.) of each revolution, and the SPI Quicklook Point Source Results about bright point sources in a revolution, and the revolution number(s) involved with bright sources.

Energy range and binsize

Two sets of rebinned data:

File generating

For each revolution and energy setting, one tarball includes the following files:
pointing.fits
gti.fits
dead_time.fits
energy_boundaries.fits
evts_det_spec.fits

They were generated with commands like the following:
spi_science_analysis obs_group="./og_spi.fits[1]" spibounds_nregions="1" \
spibounds_regions="18, 2000" spibounds_nbins="3964" \
IC_Group="../../idx/ic/ic_master_file.fits[1]" IC_Alias="OSA" \
coeff_DOL="" detectors="0-84" \
spiros_source-cat-dol="../../cat/hec/gnrl_refr_cat_0029.fits[1]" \
use_pointing_filter="no" \
run_background="yes" run_cat_extract="no" run_spiros="no"
where energy range, number of bins and catalogue (not used) version varied.
Only science windows NOT with type OTHERS and SPIMODE == 41 are included.

Hint for downloading

If you are insterested in only a few revolutions, you can download from the link above.

If you want to download everything in one go, "wget" is the way to go. In this particular case,
the recommended command line is
wget -r -N -np -nH --cut-dirs=4 \
http://www.mpe.mpg.de/gamma/instruments/integral/spi_public_service/data/
which is short for
wget --recursive --timestamping --no-parent --no-host-directories --cut-dirs=4 \
http://www.mpe.mpg.de/gamma/instruments/integral/spi_public_service/data/
This command line will download all available data, including this page, to the directory data and two sub-diretories corresponding to the two energy setting. It supports updating, i.e., only download newer files the next time you use it.
