Star Formation in Galaxies:
The Herschel Era
Sunday to Saturday, June 19 &mdash 25, 2011
Schloß Ringberg, Bavaria, Germany
Stimulated by but extending well beyond first Herschel results, we would like to take
observational and theoretical perspectives at star formation in galaxies and its regulating
factors, at a workshop entitled
Star Formation in Galaxies: The Herschel Era
to be held at
Schloss Ringberg (Ringberg castle),
Bavaria
on
June 19 - June 25, 2011.
Our approach will be to combine the most recent observational results from
Herschel and other wavelengths with an in-depth view of the factors that
regulate star formation in galaxies. We would like to combine researchers
from observational as well as theoretical/numerical perspectives.
As in past Ringberg workshops, we will keep a fair fraction of the time
available for informal discussion/collaboration among the participants.
Pictures from the conference can be found here.
Ringberg castle provides an excellent conference facility with a relatively small number of
participants, allowing for intense discussions and fruitful exchange of ideas. The
location, in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps and overlooking the Tegernsee, is beautiful and
peaceful.
