Aim of the workshop

ESA, JAXA and NASA recently announced their intention to perform a joint study of a new large X-ray astronomy mission, the International X-ray Observatory (IXO). This supercedes the previous XEUS and Constellation-X studies being performed separately by the agencies, with the intention to make a common submission to ESA's Cosmic Vision downselection, and NASA's decadal survey. As a result, we are delighted to be able re-announce the intended XEUS meeting at MPE in September as the first IXO Science Meeting.

The purpose of this workshop is to gather together all members of the astronomical community worldwide who have an interest in IXO science. Key topics to be covered include:

In addition, major components of the workshop will be devoted to a summary of the project status, and refinement of the science objectives of the joint mission.

The conference fee is 80 Euro, to be paid in cash at the registration desk.
