\section{Introduction}

To ensure rapid publication at low costs we plan
to publish the proceedings of the conference as a special
{\bf MPE - Report} which will then be freely distributed to all 
participants of the meeting.
We plan to have this report ready $~ \la ~ $
6 months after the conference.

For a homogeneous 'impression' of the papers we supply a Latex - macro
which is adopted from the A\&A Latex style macro.
Therefore most of the general commands and rules can be carried
over directly from the A\&A style.
 
For your convenience we give  in this example  most of the relevant 
commands you might need like:
 
   \begin{itemize}
      \item inclusion of figures  
      \item inclusion of one-column tables 
      \item  inclusion of wider tables
   \end{itemize}
 
In Fig. 1 we demonstrate the 'typical' inclusion of a postscript
file. The "picplace" - command has to be removed and replaced by
the "psfig" declarations.

style instructions and the instructions to authors in any 
January (I) isssue of A\&A.

\section{Details on the papers}
  
As we expect a large number of contributions we have to be
rather strict with space available to the individual contributor.
 
\subsection{Review talks}
 
The camera ready manuscript of review talks should not exceed 
a maximum of {\bf 8} pages.
 
\subsection{Highlight talks}
 
The camera ready manuscript of  highlight  talks must not exceed
a maximum of {\bf 4} pages.
 
\subsection{Contributed papers}

The camera ready manuscript of contributed papers must not exceed
a maximum of {\bf 2} pages.
   
\subsection{Posters}
 
For poster contributions the maximum length is {\bf 2} pages.
 

\section{Deadline}
 
Deadline for the receipt of the high-quality camera ready manuscripts
is

Please note that we expect a large number of contributions for the
proceedings. Thus, if you exceed the given deadline without further
arrangements with us you
might end up not getting your contribution printed in the proceedings.
