The gain (mean PHA channel) and quantum efficiency (count rate)
of the ROSAT HRI are monitored frequently using N132D and the UV
calibration lamp. The links below are to postscript files describing
these quantities over the lifetime of the mission.

ROSAT PSPC · Calibration Corrections Applied to Individual PSPC Events
( PS,
HTML)
Desc.: Details all the corrections applied to
individual PSPC events during the conversion from their arrival
position & pulse height channel to their corrected coordinates

the original MPE memo TN-ROS-ME-ZA00/027, but updated and expanded to
also refer to the FITS versions of the calibration files available
from the CALDB.
Code: CAL/ROS/95-010,
Authors: Turner, George, Snowden, Yusaf, and Hasinger,
On-line versions available: (postscript, HTML),
Maintained: by the CALDB

ROSAT PSPC · Status of the PSPC Spatial/Temporal Gain Calibration
( PS,
HTML)
Desc.: Demonstrates the magnitude of inaccuracies
recently discovered in the temporal & spatial gain correction
applied by SASS, and reviews the current status of the work being
done at NASA/GSFC & MPE to understand and correct for these.
Code: CAL/ROS/95-003,
Authors: Snowden, Turner, George, Yusaf, Predehl
and Prieto, On-line versions available:

ROSAT PSPC · The Off-axis Point Spread Function
( PS,
HTML)
Desc.: Gives a detailed description of an analytical
parameterization of the PSF by Hasinger etal; as published in
Legacy, 4, 40.
Code: CAL/ROS/93-015,
Authors: Hasinger, Boese, Predehl, Turner, Yusaf,
George and Rohrbach,
On-line versions available: (postscript, HTML),
Maintained: by the CALDB,
Notes: Published in Legacy, 4, 40. This document is
a follow-up to the parameterization of the on-axis (only) PSF described
in CAL/ROS/92-001 (and with an addedum CAL/ROS/92-001a).
Some Figures currently unavailable.

Addendum: High Signal-to-Noise In-Flight Data
( PS,
HTML)
Desc.: Addendum to the memo CAL/ROS/92-001 comparing
the analytical parameterization of the PSF with a high
signal-to-noise dataset; as published in Legacy, 3, 46.
