TEL Processing

TEL processing (see Figs. 8.3 and 8.4) handles the time-ordered data by

  • performing initial checks on the house keeping data,
  • generating quality flags of the detector status,
  • preparing the aspect solution and aspect quality,
  • breaking the science frames into individual photon events,
  • correcting individual photon events according to instrument properties (cf. also App. F),
  • applying a corrected, monotonically increasing time,
  • flagging the background,
  • splitting the data into separate observation intervals (OBIs), which the steering system has to correlate to the mission time line (MTL).
