B.5 Warning: Unresolved Problems
Recent problems with the flat fielding have been reported. Some investigators have claimed that the correction of the PSPC image by the exposure map, produces anomalously high count rates towards the edge of the detector, versus those obtained on-axis. This appears to effect AO-4 data. This is currently under investigation.
The PSPC spectral response and gain correction are currently under investigation.
