The Open Star Cluster of the Hyades
The Hyades is the open star cluster located closest to us. With an age of about 600 million years, the stars are very young in comparison to our Sun. The entire cluster is extended to more than 2000 square degrees. The image shows the central region of the Hyades with more than hundred identified X-ray sources.
