======== List of known problems with the ROD for XUV data ==== 29-Nov-91 ===
- For data sets sent out prior to Oct. 1st the values in the TIME column
of the OPRAT.TBL are erroneous. This is only relevant for the
calculation of the deadtime correction (not possible with present EXSAS
release).
- For data sets sent out prior to Nov. 25 the naming convention of the
column labels in the OPEFF.TBL is not consistent with EXSAS. This may
cause problems when performing the EXSAS command MODEL/SPECTRUM. Old
column labels: EFF_AR_1 ... ; correct column labels EFFAR_1 ... . This
problem can easily be remedied by overwriting the column labels with the
correct ones as required by EXSAS using the appropriate MIDAS command.
- Some 3-d effective area images OPEFF.BDF sent out before December 1991
may contain meaningless numbers due to an erroneous FITS conversion.
- For data sets sent out prior to Nov. 25 EXSAS/PROJECTION commands relying
on the small map structure of the events tables OP.TBL will not work
correctly. Before performing a SELECT command the descriptor FILE_TYPE
of these tables should therefore be overwritten with the value PET.
- WFC effective areas contained on the observer tapes refer to the
verification phase only and do NOT include the reduction in efficiency
since January 1991. It is expected that --- after the availibility of an
improved WFC calibration --- a reprocessing of data sets where sources
have been detected will occur where all of the above errors will be
corrected. Please contact the XUV Data Centre at Tuebingen to receive
corrected data sets immediately.
