Task: Usage of the XMMSAS GUI

input file: events.fits
instrument: all instruments and modes

Through out our `cookbook' we usually use the line command tasks of the XMMSAS data reduction package (see the XMMSAS command page which tasks are available.) However, all those tasks can also be used through a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Here we give a short example how to use the XMMSAS GUI.

1) Start the GUI:

     sas &
This will start the following GUI window: SAS GUI window
SAS GUI
SAS GUI to start epchain
SAS GUI to start epchain
  1. For example we choose the XMMSAS task epchain to create an event file.

  2. Click twice on the task epchain
  3. This will start a new GUI window which is needed to control the task epchain

SAS GUI epchan
SAS GUI for epchain
  1. Now we can start to work with the epchain task.

  2. Because it is not the task of this page to explain epchain we stop here.
