- Einstein's Legacy -

Conference in Munich, Germany

November 7-11, 2005

Update October 2005

Dear participants,

the conference will begin in just under 3 weeks time.

Please note: Registration starts on Monday Nov. 7th at 8:00 AM.

The conference program and the lists of the accepted talks and posters were placed on the conference page mid August.

Below, we would like to give participants who will be giving a talk or presenting a poster some information to keep in mind while preparing their contributions.

Further information and updates will be posted on the website.

Looking forward to seeing you here soon in Munich.

Presentation Information:

Posters

Each poster board can accommodate a DIN A0 size (841 x 1189 mm; 33.1 x 46.8 inch, portrait orientation) or smaller posters. The list of accepted posters together with a number to identify their location in the poster presentation room will be available when registering.

(Note that pinning the pages of a preprint to the poster board is not acceptable as a poster display - if that is what you intend to do, please retract your poster application and display your work on the preprint table).

Talks

The standard modes for oral presentations will be either via a video projector for computer-aided presentations (such as PowerPoint, PDF or a web browser) or a classic overhead projector with viewgraphs.

To avoid delays and/or problems when starting electronic presentations from different equipment it would be very helpful to bring your presentation (PPT, PDF) on a USB drive and/or CDROM so that it can be copied to the conference Windows computer, so that the presentation can be tested before the session. When saving the PPT file one should make sure that the fonts are embbeded in the file (to avoid suprises). Speakers with more complex presentations that involve movies should keep in mind that these need to be copied to the conference computer as well . The conference presentation computer runs under Windows XP + Microsoft Office 2000/XP.

So when you arrive at the conference, please contact a LOC member *well in advance* of your session in order to go over the details of your presentation, especially if you arrive with your presentation on electronic media.

Time available will be 30 minutes for invited and 20 minutes for contributed talks plus 5 minutes for discussions.

Instructions for Apple Macintosh users will be posted on the website within the next few days.
