Spectral Energy Distribution for Galactic O stars




This page provides new Spectral Energy Distributions for Galactic O stars computed with the code CMFGEN (Hillier & Miller 1998). A grid of non-LTE models including winds and line-blanketing was constructed and used to produce new calibration of stellar properties of Galactic O stars: the results were presented in Martins, Schaerer & Hillier, 2005, A&A, 436, 1049 ( ADS reference).

Here we make the SEDs of these models available. The following table gives the main parameters of the models together with a link to the complete SED. The SED files give the wavelength (Å) in the first column and Fλ (in erg/s/cm2/Å) in the second one. Their typical size is 10Mb. The SEDs cover the wavelength range 50 Å - 70 μm. The number of frequency points ranges between 294000 and 547000 depending on the ionisation states (and thus on the number of lines) included in the models (different ionisation states being included for different Teff). The spacing of the frequency grid is variable since the grid is designed to resolve all line profiles and since the density of lines depends on the wavelength range.
