I am working as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the "Physics of Galactic Nuclei" group of Andi Burkert at the Max-Planck-Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics in Garching and the USM in Munich. I am especially interested in the formation, evolution and characteristics of gas and dust tori, which are an important part of the current model of Active Galactic Nuclei. To study this, we use hydrodynamic simulations with the help of the PLUTO-code. Subsequent radiative transfer modelling with MC3D and RADMC-3D enables us to derive observable quantities like spectral energy distributions and surface brightness distributions and visibility information, which can be compared to observations. Recently I have also become interested in the Galactic Centre of the Milky Way and high-redshift galaxy formation. See my research pages, publications and online material for further details, results and movies.
