QFitsView 4 RC1
Binaries for the latest Release Candidate 1 of QFitsView are provided for testing.
The source code will be released once a final version 4.0 is ready.
Feedback and bug reports are most welcome!
Instructions
- Download the version for your operating system. On linux, ensure the file is executable (chmod a+x QFitsView_4_rc1)
- To use the GDL bridge, download gdl.zip and unpack to a directory of your choice, e.g. /tmp
- Set environment variables to let QFitsView know where the unpacked files live:
export PLPLOT_LIB="/tmp/plplotdata"
export GDL_PATH="+/tmp/gdl" <--- note the "+" in front!
You can do this also from within QFitsView, by entering the following at the DPUSER prompt:
setenv "PLPLOT_LIB", "/tmp/plplotdata"
setenv "GDL_PATH", "+/tmp/gdl"
- To use the PYTHON bridge, let QFitsView know where your PYTHON dynamic link library lives:
Open the preferences dialog (Options->Preferences, QFitsView->Preferences on Mac), move to Paths tab and enter in the topmost panel:
- Linux:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpython3.6m.so (find /usr/lib -name "libpython*so")
- MacOS:
/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.6/lib/libpython3.6.dylib (find /Library -name "libpython*dylib")
- Windows:
c:/Program Files/Python36/python36.dll
The exact location of the python library depends on your individual installation.
