"Continuing the JWST Revolution — Understanding Early Galaxy Formation"
A four-week MIAPbP workshop in Garching on early galaxy formation, black holes, and reionization in the era of JWST, ALMA, SKA, and ELT.Registration is open; deadline September 7, 2025. Held June 1–26, 2026.

The MIAPbP Workshop “Continuing the JWST Revolution: Understanding Early Galaxy Formation” will take place June 1–26, 2026 at the Munich Institute for Astro-, Particle and BioPhysics (MIAPbP), Garching.
This four-week programme will bring together observers and theorists to consolidate the revolutionary results from JWST’s first four years, complemented by ALMA, SKA, and future ELT observations.

Key topics include:

  • Census of early star-forming galaxies and theoretical predictions
  • Early black hole demographics and seed models
  • Ionising properties of early sources and reionisation models
  • Detection prospects for chemically pristine stellar populations
  • Future JWST observing strategies in synergy with ALMA, SKA, and ELT

The MIAPbP format differs from standard conferences, offering extended stays (minimum two weeks) for deep interaction, with seminars, collaborative work, and discussion in an informal setting. Participation is limited (~40 per week), with office space, housing assistance, and partial cost reimbursement (€80/day for external participants).

Registration is open now. Deadline: September 7, 2025.
