2 nearly independent grating spectrometers:

SW: 2.38 - 12. µm
LW: 12. - 45.2 µm

spectral resolution R = 1,000 - 2,000

2 Fabry-Pérot filters at the exit of the LW section:

FP1: 11.4 - 26. µm
FP2: 26. - 44.5 µm

spectral resolution R = 20,000 - 35,000

Mechanisms:

four-position entrance aperture shutter
2 grating scanners (SW/LW section)
2 scanning Fabry-Pérot filters

Detector arrays:

4 arrays with 12 detectors each, one per grating band
2 pairs of detectors, one for each FP channel

Calibration sources:

grating calibrators
diffuse calibrators
Fabry-Pérot calibrator
Flushers
