OPTIMA
OPTIMA ( OPtical TIMing Analyzer) is an optical high-speed photoncounter designed for the observation of highly variable source such as X-ray binaries, cataclysmic variables and pulsars. OPTIMA allows photomeric and polarimetric observations with atime resolution of up to 10-6s and high throughput.
A detailed description of the OPTIMA system in 2013 can be found in the following document: [PDF Download].
A special version - OPTIMA-burst - was used in 2006 and 2007 during 3-month campaigns at the Skinakas observatory (Crete, Greece) to observe Gamma Ray Bursts immediately after detection by the Swift satellite.
Again in 2008 to 2012 this instrument was installed at Skinakas observatory for campaigns of multiple weeks duration each.
