PACS Consortium
PACS has been designed and built by a consortium of institutes and university departments from across Europe under the leadership of Principal Investigator Albrecht Poglitsch located at Max-Planck-Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, Garching, Germany. Consortium members are: Austria: UVIE; Belgium: IMEC, KUL, CSL; France: CEA, OAMP; Germany: MPE, MPIA; Italy: IFSI, OAP/OAT, OAA/CAISMI, LENS, SISSA; Spain: IAC.
PACS Instrument Control Centre
The PACS Instrument Control Centre (ICC) was located at MPE, with partners in Austria (UVIE), Belgium (KUL), France (CEA), Germany (MPIA), Hungaria (Konkoly/KISAG), Italy (SISSA, IFSI), and Spain (IAC).
The ICCs were responsible for the calibration and successful operation of their instrument, starting from the instrument level. They also provided documentation, software, calibration files and procedures for the scientific processing of the raw data. Their final task was the consolidation of data, software, and documentation for the Herschel legacy archive.
