Life
My name is Jana Iljenkarevic and I am a Master student in Physics from Germany. As a young scientist, I can summarize my academic career in short: I finished my Bachelor's degree in Physics at the University of Bonn in 2020. For my Bachelor Thesis, I worked on eROSITA CalPV data for calibration purposes in the working group of Prof. Reiprich at the Argelander Institute for Astronomy (University of Bonn).

Science
Thereafter, I continued this work, focussing on the Galaxy Cluster A3408, which ended up in being the lead author of the EDR paper „eROSITA Spectro-Imaging Analysis of the Abell 3408 Galaxy Cluster“ (submitted to A&A).

Being member of the eROSITA consortium is a wonderful opportunity and very exciting for me. However, this is not the end of my academic career! As a first year Master student, I feel being at the beginning of a long journey. In the moment, I can not tell what my next project will be. First, I want to widen my knowledge and I am looking forward to all the interesting lectures and talks I am going to listen to. For now, I am still very interested in Galaxy Clusters and their interactions, but there are also many other topics to explore in Astrophysics!

Interests
Apart from my passion for Astrophysics, in my spare time I do sports, sing and play the piano. But my favorite hobby is hiking. I appreciate spending time in nature. The joy of biodiversity and miracle of life brought me to study additionally Bachelor in Biology.
