"My research interests lie at the crossroads of observational astrophysics and cosmology"

June 28, 2021

Life
My name is Emre Bahar. I am a PhD student at MPE working under the supervision of Dr. Bulbul and Prof. Nandra. I am part of the Clusters and Cosmology Group which is under the High-Energy Astrophysics Group. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees from Sabancı University in Turkey.

Science
My research interests lie at the crossroads of observational astrophysics and cosmology. I am working on the X-ray observations of galaxy clusters in order to make physical interpretations about the nature of these objects and the cosmic structure. I am particularly interested in studying scaling relations between X-ray observables and studying gas properties of galaxy groups using eROSITA observations. Within the eROSITA team, I am part of the group that is mainly responsible for the X-ray analysis of the eROSITA detected clusters where I am taking part in collaborative works.

Conclusion
I am a young scientist who desires science to be equally accessible to all.
